Sunshine bursts out of them
You can almost see the green
Of all the lovely trees and plants
The grass the children ran through
You can smell the flowers
Just blooming and beautiful
Before the bees take the honey.
The ripe smell of happiness.
You hear the song of the little birdies
And the wind rushing through
the trees and brushing the laundry
All the peaceful sounds of the day.
You can feel the heat of the sun
Almost burning your skin.
Trying to see through you
And intimidate you, but fails.
You can imagine seeing the boys
Shirts off, abs out in the open…
Or the girls, wearing less and less
The hotter it gets during the day.
Just by looking into her eyes
You are reminded of the memories
Spending summer with your family
And having no cares in the world
She cheers the room with her smile
But when you see the eyes
You want to shout out
At this new found happiness!
You don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
